1967 RH 40# Indian Archery Apache Recurve Bow

  
DESCRIPTION: This is a serviceable Indian Apache higher poundage target bow. This bow has a big riser that is shock absorbing and smooth to shoot. The good: Bow has no delamination; no cracks; limbs are straight. Overlays and tips are in great condition. No drilled holes; No chips, dings or cracks. No stress lines or crazing. A few minor scratches and nicks here and there. Decal is in excellent condition. Typical "yellowing" of the limbs.

Note: the limbs are a uniform color, but sections may look a different shade in some of the pics (it's a camera-lighting thing). This bow has a massive riser, which makes for a smooth shot which absorbs all the shock. The bad: The riser is structurally sound, but could use a complete refinish. It wasn't worth it to me to refinish it. Also, the top limb tended to twist a little after stringing and some shooting.

I found that the original string groove had been carved in off-center (see pic) which caused the limb to twist slightly. What I did to correct it was fill the string groove with spot putty and then put leather "string silencers" over both limbs' string grooves (see pic). Not recommended for daily use.
